Health and safety community gets Back to Safety Basics
More than 250 delegates and exhibitors from 30 health and safety-related organisations recently convened for the annual conference and exhibition of the Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG). Bringing together the Northern Ireland health and safety community, the conference was themed around Back to Safety Basics and held at La Mon Hotel on November 7. Eleven expert speakers provided thought-provoking and informative presentations on topics such as electricity,
work at height, management of dusts, collaborative working, workplace transport compliance, machinery guarding, hearing protection, safety barriers, and fire and emergency evacuation. The event also offered attendees the opportunity to network, take part in lunch time demos and brainstorm with their peers. The 2024 Awards Dinner followed the conference and saw local companies receive recognition for their entries to the
National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO)/ NISG All-Ireland Occupational Health and Safety Awards. Special congratulations went to RYOBI Aluminium Casting (UK) Ltd for receiving the Supreme Award, the first time that the top award has been won by a Northern Ireland company.
