PHOENIX INTEGRATED PRIMARY & NURSERY SCHOOL, COOKSTOWN
CURTAIN WALLING, WINDOWS & DOORS Aluminium curtain walling, windows and doors were supplied to Phoenix Integrated Primary & Nursery School in Cookstown by McMullan O’Donnell. Michael McMullan, Director, said, “It was great to work in partnership with the main contractor, Ganson UK, on Phoenix IPS. Representing the latest addition to our portfolio of projects in the education sector, we were very pleased with its end result. “We have previously worked with Ganson in the commercial sector and take pride in our ability to deliver tailored, cost- effective solutions, while maintaining a healthy and productive working relationship.” Established in 1980, McMullan O’Donnell is a specialist in the design, manufacture and installation of high-performance, architectural aluminium systems for the commercial sector, as well as PVCu windows and moulded infill panel and composite doors for the domestic market. Utilising the latest developments in computer-aided machining and production to guarantee optimum precision, its products are designed and manufactured to provide excellence in performance, security, long life, reliability and maintenance.
MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR
The mechanical services package delivered by R&F Mechanical Services in the new school included mechanical ventilation and heat recovery throughout the building, domestic water and sanitaryware installations, and natural gas-fired high efficiency boilers. Also included were isolation systems, an underfloor heating system and radiant panel heating, all controlled by a Building Energy Management System, and achieving BIM Level 2 and BREEAM Excellent targets. Delivered adjacent to a fully-operational school, challenges of the project included strict adherence with protocols around traffic management, noise generation and site segregation. With R&F’s experienced team well used to working within a live environment, the project was delivered to the challenging target timeframe.
