construction and land development. My time in account management with Property Finder cemented my interest in these fields and gave me a strong foundation. Joining CIS felt like a natural evolution - a way to combine my skills with my passion for transforming data into actionable insights. Over the years, I’ve seen the demand for information shift dramatically. Businesses now want more than just raw data; they’re looking for strategic intelligence that drives decision- making. At CIS, our goal is to provide clients with tools and analysis that enable them to thrive in a competitive industry. What has been the biggest challenge in your role so far? The most significant challenge has been bridging the gap between the vast data we hold and making it accessible and actionable for clients. Each customer has unique needs, and ensuring they can extract the value they need requires tailored solutions and clear communication. Technological advancements have also presented challenges, particularly the rapid pace of change. At CIS, we’ve embraced tools like APIs to ensure that data delivery keeps pace with client expectations. However, adapting to such innovation is a constant learning curve. On a larger scale, external factors like the pandemic and economic turbulence have shaped how we operate. Shifting to hybrid working during Covid-19 and navigating market instability in GB and Northern Ireland tested our resilience. In Northern Ireland specifically, issues such as the housing crisis and infrastructure delays have compounded

challenges in the construction sector. These obstacles, while significant, have also driven innovation and collaboration within our team.

opportunities waiting if you’re willing to look beyond the conventional.

How have your relationships shaped your career? I’ve been fortunate to learn from exceptional colleagues, managers and teams throughout my journey. Collaboration and shared insights have been key to my growth. Outside of work, lifelong friends have provided a unique sounding board. Their honesty and fresh perspectives have often been invaluable when I’ve needed clarity or direction. Having people who know you well but are removed from your daily work environment brings a balance that’s hard to find elsewhere.

How would you describe your leadership style?

I focus on creating clarity, accountability and empowerment. I believe success starts with every team member understanding their role, how it aligns with broader goals and the value they bring to the company. It’s crucial to foster a sense of belonging, where people feel inspired to excel because they’re an integral part of a shared mission. Micromanagement isn’t my style; instead, I trust my team to develop their own strategies and take ownership of their results. This approach fosters innovation and self-motivation. Regular, open communication is equally important — I take the time to understand my team’s professional and personal aspirations, ensuring they feel supported in achieving their goals. Looking back, what would you do differently in your career? While I initially pursued accountancy, I quickly realised it wasn’t my calling. My passion lay in client engagement and relationship building, but at the time, career advice was limited to traditional roles like accounting or law. If I could go back, I’d encourage my younger self to explore unconventional career paths earlier and trust in my instincts to pursue what truly excites me. Understanding your strengths and passions earlier can make a world of difference. That’s the advice I’d offer anyone starting their career today — don’t feel confined by traditional expectations. There’s a whole world of

How would you like CIS to be remembered?

I envision CIS as the definitive authority on construction and land project data — not just in Ireland, but globally. Our ambition is to be recognised for setting industry standards and empowering clients with insights that transform how they plan, strategise, and succeed. With the momentum we’ve built and the demand for our expertise, I believe we’re well on our way to achieving this legacy. What advice would you give your 20-year-old self? Two key lessons come to mind. First, don’t feel pressured to react immediately in high-stakes situations. Taking a step back to reflect can turn an emotional reaction into a thoughtful, professional response. Second, pursue what genuinely excites you. True success isn’t just about financial gain; it’s about finding work that inspires and fulfils you. Life is too short not to love what you do.
