Shanekia Cole, Mililani Occupation: Nurse Practitioner Children:
Reagan: 15 Ronnie: 25 Davida: 33
Favorite Food: Chicken Marsala Favorite Beach: Hanauma Bay Best Advice: Do not stress over the things you can not control. Best Part of Being a Mom: Witnessing my children’s growth and development through the phases of life and helping them navigate their journey. A Perfect Day in Hawaii: Waking up feeling restored with no specific agenda or “have to do list”; sunny, clear sky, 75 degrees with a nice breeze; a good meal at a place where I can view the beach and watch the sunset while enjoying a malasada from Leonard’s. A Note From Sachi: Shanekia is a military mom, a veteran, and a 16-year cancer survivor. To say she has faced challenges is quite the understatement. But when you meet Shanekia, you notice a peace and calm about her that makes you feel at home. Raynette Raymond, Mililani Mauka, Homeowner Since 1999 “It was hard work, as every mom knows, but it’s so rewarding to see the true gentlemen they’ve become. They brought me wonderful daughters-in-law, Sasha and Sherry. They’re beautiful women, inside and out! I also have the privilege of being grandma to three amazing boys: Nainoa, 15; Kahai, 12; and Ekolu, 6. I must admit, I spoil them every chance I get!” Favorite Restaurant: Ruth’s Chris. The next best place to eat would be in “Mike’s Kitchen!” Favorite Beach: Waimea Bay on the North Shore. I love the summer months when the calm, clear ocean beckons you in. Best Advice: Be kind and respectful, always. It will come back tenfold. Best Part of Being a Mom and Grandma: When the unconditional love shared comes back in simple hugs. A Perfect Day in Hawaii: Playing in my plants, then getting a surprise visit from my grandkids! That’s when the ice cream comes out! Children: Jared: 44 Justin: 40 A Note From Sachi: Raynette is my neighbor and in many ways has adopted me in her ohana. And she does that for all the folks around her. She’s warm, inviting, and leads with her heart. Truly, a gem in the Mauka community. Best Advice: Don’t be afraid to express your true self. Whether it’s through your fashion, hobbies, or how you decorate your home, let your personality shine, and always do your hair! Best Part of Being a Mom: The unconditional love and joy my children bring to my life. Watching them grow, learn, and become unique individuals is incredibly rewarding. I love cherishing the special moments we share, from before-bed stories and beach days to family traditions and spontaneous adventures. I love the sense of purpose and fulfillment that comes from nurturing and guiding “Ryry” and “Karmie.” Seeing them happy and thriving is one of my greatest joys. Plus, the laughter and fun they bring into our home make every day brighter. A Perfect Day in Hawaii: Morning: Cooking breakfast for the fam, coffee with Richie. Afternoon: Sneaking in some self-love — massage or facial. Evening: Barbecue or potluck with family and friends while singing karaoke! My focus would be on quality time, self-care, laughter, and creating unforgettable memories with the people I love the most. A Note From Sachi: Genesis’ kitchen is where you want to be, she is an incredible cook! I love that her home is filled with music and that she has passed that love on to her kiddos! Favorite Beach: Kailua Beach Best Advice: Show up. It is challenging to be a full-time working mom to three very busy kids, none of whom drives yet. I spend a lot of time in my car, driving them to their practices and other extracurricular activities. However, I know the time my kids are with me as kids is limited, so I try to soak up every moment with them I can. These moments aren’t necessarily the big family trips or parties, but they are small everyday moments like being at their

practices, games, performances, awards ceremonies, field trips, etc. I show up because I know it matters to my kids. Best Part of Being a Mom: Seeing my kids happy, excel at what they enjoy, and being recognized for their hard work. A Perfect Day in Hawaii: A perfect day in Hawaii for me is an all-day beach day at Kailua Beach with my family. A Note From Sachi: Sheryl is possibly the busiest mom I know. Her three extremely talented children keep her on the move and she loves every second of it. She’s a great reminder for me that connecting with your kids can happen anywhere, take advantage of every moment!

TH MIXED ACTIVITY KET
Inspired by TasteOfHome.com
INGREDIENTS • 1 boneless beef chuck roast (about 2 lbs) • 3 medium carrots, peeled, chopped • 2 medium sweet red peppers, chopped • 1 medium onion, chopped • 1 8-oz can unsweetened crushed pineapple, undrained • 1/2 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce • 2 tbsp packed brown sugar
The Oahu real estate market remains balanced and stable overall. While there are minor fluctuations in sales and median prices, affordability is being influenced more by interest rates than by month-to-month price changes. With inventory gradually increasing and properties taking longer to sell, there’s a noticeable shift in how homes are being priced and presented to buyers.

Front Yard Facelift The Hottest Curb Appeal Trends of 2025
Bare Brick If your home is brick, you’re in luck. Bare brick is a popular style this year, beating out painted brick, a popular option in the past. Red brick can shine if you paint the window trim or add new shutters. Though its natural state is attractive and easier to maintain, you can also paint it a darker color that works well with your roof. Natural Landscaping Native landscaping is a wonderful way to highlight the natural beauty of your community and is also good for the environment. The idea is to create a more self-sustaining outdoor setting with beneficial plants, healthy soil, and solid rainwater management. Standout features are rainwater gardens, fruits and vegetables, cisterns, and wildlife walkways. By embracing the latest curb appeal trends, you create a welcoming and stylish space that stands out for all the right reasons.

First impressions are everything, and when it comes to your home, curb appeal sets the tone before anyone even steps inside. Whether you want to sell your house, refresh your entryway, or give your neighbors something nice to look at, keeping up with this year’s biggest trends can give your space that wow factor.
