Mentors are not expected to: - Provide mentees with practical business development support - Provide mentoring or coaching support to the Instructor Member once the mentoring relationship has concluded (once the mentee has achieved sign-off approval). Approved Instructor Members should contact instructorsupport@ mhfaengland.org in the first instance for support with any queries or concerns Mentee requirements As mentees, Instructor-Members-In-Training are expected to: - Understand and follow the minimum sign-off process and requirements for all Instructor-Members-In-Training - Work with their National Trainer mentor to set development goals for their first year as an Instructor-Member-In-Training - Proactively book time in with their mentor following each of their two co- deliveries, if they wish to take advantage of this opportunity - Be open to constructive feedback, advice, and supportive guidance provided by their mentor - Take appropriate actions in line with feedback and guidance from the mentor to support improved course delivery practice

- Provide advice to their mentee if/when they encounter challenges in their course co-deliveries - Be responsive to communications from their mentee - It is expected that National Trainers will respond to communications from their mentees as soon as possible, and at the latest within five working days - Where the National Trainer is on holiday or uncontactable for any reason, they will set an out of office outlining the expected response time - For long term periods of absence (more than one month) the National Trainer mentor will provide the mentee with contact details for the other National Trainer who delivered the course to the same cohort - Assess the quality of the mentee’s portfolio and make recommendations regarding their sign-off as a fully trained and approved Instructor Member - As best practice, National Trainer mentors should communicate with their mentee by email and ensure that any mentoring telephone conversations are followed up with an email summary to the mentee
