12.1 Interrupted membership After a period of inactivity, memberships can be reactivated by the Instructor Member. Memberships can also be voluntarily interrupted by the Instructor Member following a change in circumstances. MHFA England has the right to deregister Instructor Members who do not deliver courses for more than three years, and those who have no contact with MHFA England for more than three years. Reactivation Reactivation is only possible for Instructor Members who have delivered at least two courses in the last three years. If your last delivery was over three years ago, you must retrain as directed by MHFA England. To reactivate membership status, an Instructor Member will need to: - Sign the Instructor Member agreement - Pay the membership fee - Pay for and attend an Instructor Training recap Voluntary interruption An Instructor Member can choose to voluntarily interrupt their membership status for up to a maximum of three years. Some examples of circumstances where a member might choose voluntary interruption include:
- Financial commitments - Time commitments
To restart the membership, the requirements will differ based on the length of time that has passed since your last two course deliveries: Lapse of 3–4 years: - We are currently reviewing the process and will share details when these are available. In the interim, please contact MHFA England at instructorsupport@ mhfaengland.org for further information on the specific steps you will be required to take to reactivate membership. You will need to pay for and attend any MHFA England courses determined as necessary by MHFA England to support your membership reactivation journey Lapse of 4+ years: - Pay for and attend an MHFA England Instructor Training Programme An Instructor Member may choose to end their membership at any point during voluntary interruption. In such cases, you must inform the Membership team at MHFA England that you wish to permanently deregister as an Instructor Member by emailing instructorsupport@mhfaengland.org Deregistration Where the membership status of an Instructor Member has been voluntarily interrupted for more than three years, with no activity or contact from the Instructor Member, the individual will be deregistered as an Instructor Member.
