We review suspended memberships annually. Any membership that stays suspended due to quality assurance related reasons for over nine months will be progressed to the next stage of the process, deregistration. This will apply to cases where there is no record of activity to resolve the issue and reactivate the membership, Deregistration When a member has had their membership suspended for over nine months, the Membership team will attempt to contact them before deregistering their membership. This will apply to cases where there is no record of action being taken to resolve the matter and reactivate membership. Rejoining MHFA England To rejoin MHFA England as an Instructor Member, the requirements differ based on the length of time since your last two course deliveries: Lapse of 1–3 years: - Sign Instructor Member agreement - Pay membership fee - Pay for and attend an Instructor Training recap Lapse of 3–4 years: - We are currently reviewing the process and will share details when these are available. In the interim, please contact MHFA England at instructorsupport@ mhfaengland.org for further information on the specific steps you will be required to take to reactivate membership. You will need to pay for and attend any MHFA England courses determined as necessary

by MHFA England to support your membership reactivation journey.’ Lapse of 4+ years: - Pay for and attend an MHFA England Instructor Training Programme It will not be possible to rejoin MHFA England as an Instructor Member in cases where the suspension and deregistration is due to: - Quality assurance related issues - Financial debt owed to MHFA England Membership removal In some circumstances, MHFA England may decide to remove membership with immediate effect. This is likely to be in relation to a severe breach of any terms and conditions of the Instructor Member agreement. Membership removal can also happen if the member poses a significant risk to MHFA England’s reputation or the quality or safety of the course delivered to learners. It will not be possible for the individual to reactivate their membership status or rejoin as an Instructor Member.
