Day 6: Kandy - Yala Depart Kandy and enjoy a morning tour of a sweeping tea plantation, before participating in a short walking tour of Nuwara Eliya. Immerse yourself in this idyllic mountainside setting, overlooking neighbouring valleys, meadows and peaks. Day 7: Yala Spend this morning at your leisure before heading on an exhilarating jeep safari around the magnificent Yala National Game Park, the largest national park in Sri Lanka with a unique ocean front setting. Home to elephants, wild boars and buffaloes, get up close and personal with the local wildlife. Day 8: Yala - Colombo Following on from breakfast, you will arrive in Galle. A city tour allows you to uncover the majestic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the surrounding historic buildings reflecting the Dutch heritage which once reigned the country. Afterwards, travel north to Colombo. Day 9: Colombo - Sri Lanka Transfer to your chosen hotel. Once settled in, enjoy the rest of your day at your own leisure. Days 10-12: Sri Lanka Take time to relax and unwind, soaking in the natural beauty and gorgeous landscapes of Sri Lanka. Days 1-2: UK - Colombo - Dambulla Fly from the UK on your overnight flight to Colombo International Airport. On arrival you will be met by your local guide and transferred to Dambulla. Spend the rest of the evening at your own leisure. Day 3: Dambulla This morning, explore the stunning Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a World Heritage Site dating back to the 5th century AD. After lunch, continue to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa and admire the ruins of the Royal Palace before exploring the Gal Vihara, famous for its carved Buddha statues. Day 4: Dambulla - Kandy After breakfast, visit the UNESCO registered Dambulla Rock Temple before travelling to Kandy and the famous Temple of Tooth Relic, Sri Lanka’s most important Buddhist relic and one of the holiest shrines in the Buddhist world.
