Day 4: Venice - Florence Enjoy breakfast in the hotel and then return to Santa Lucia station for your train to Florence. On arrival in Florence, start exploring this beautiful and historic city. A good place to start is the Ponte Vecchio, the oldest and most famous bridge over the Arno River, filled with shops and connecting the famous Uffizi museum to the old Medici Palace. Day 5: Florence Spend another day discovering Florence. Enjoy a walking tour with a local guide, take a stroll across the Ponte Vecchio, admire the spectacular Duomo Cathedral and be sure to enjoy some fine Italian cuisine before you leave the “Renaissance City”. Day 6: Florence - Rome Travel from Florence to Rome by train. Start using your Hop-on-Hop-off bus pass to travel around the city. Marvel at the ancient walls of the Colosseum, take in the dazzling views from the rooftop terrace of the Capitoline Museums and be sure to visit the famous Spanish steps before heading to the Piazza di Spagna for a spot of shopping. Day 7: Rome Spend a full day exploring Rome. Discover the wonders of the ‘Eternal City’ at your own pace, perhaps taking a trip to Vatican City to explore the museums and marvel at the ornate ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Come the evening, be sure to visit the Trevi Fountain to throw your coins - the architecture is quite spectacular when lit up at night. Day 8: Rome - UK Check out of your hotel and make your way to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
