Day 8: Kyoto - Kanazawa Travel by coach to Kanazawa where you’ll visit the beautiful Kenroku-en Garden (one of the ‘Three Great Gardens’) and a historic samurai house. Days 9-10: Kanazawa - Shirakawago & Takayama Learn the art of making washi paper by hand, before reaching the rural splendour of Shirakawago, famous for its authentic gassho-style houses and beautiful surroundings. Days 13-14: Nagano - Mount Fuji & Hakone Admire the sight of snow-capped Mount Fuji and drive up to its fifth Station (weather permitting). In Hakone, enjoy a peaceful cruise on Lake Ashi, with Fuji as a spectacular backdrop, and soar over the hilltops to glimpse of traditional Japan. Day 11: Takayama - Nagano Enjoy two full days in Tokyo soaking up all there is to see. Start your explorations at the Imperial Palace East Garden before stopping by the famous Shibuya Crossing. Stroll the vibrant Asakusa district and soak up the ambience of Senso-ji, Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple. See the city from the observation deck of the 634-metre Skytree and end your tour with a dinner cruise on a traditional yakata boat on Tokyo Bay. Days 1-2: UK - Osaka Today you’ll fly overnight to Osaka and meet your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner. Day 3: Nara Spend the morning in the history-filled city of Nara, visiting the Todai-Ji Temple and meeting the free- roaming sika deer who bow to visitors in return for snacks. Then return to Osaka and visit beautiful Osaka Castle. Day 4: Osaka - Himeji Castle - Hiroshima On route to Hiroshima, stop by the 17th-century Himeji Castle to admire its magnificent architecture and Pay homage to the victims of the 1945 atomic bomb at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum, then take the ferry over to the holy island of Miyajima to see its famous ‘floating’ torii gate. Days 6-7: Hiroshima - Kyoto neighbouring Koko-en garden. Day 5: Hiroshima & Miyajima Arrive in Kyoto via iconic bullet train and explore the city’s main highlights, such as the Golden Pavilion and Fushimi Inari Shrine.
