Drinking Water Quality Management System The Environmental Services team works year-round to meet regulatory standards and ensure the integrity of our water distribution, wastewater collection and stormwater management systems. • Drinking Water Quality Management Standard (DWQMS): Vaughan’s Water Distribution System successfully renewed its DWQMS accreditation, confirming conformance with industry standards. Regular audits will continue to maintain this certification. • Internal Audits: To meet DWQMS requirements, two internal audits are scheduled throughout the year to assess the conformance of our operational plan to the DWQMS and compliance with water quality regulations. • Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) Inspections: The City received a 100 per cent rating in its most recent inspection of the Water Distribution System by the MECP. Future inspections will ensure ongoing compliance. • Water Quality Monitoring: Vaughan conducts water sampling and testing in accordance with provincial regulations. This includes monthly microbiological testing, daily chlorine monitoring and regular chemical analysis to ensure safe drinking water.
By maintaining strict oversight and routine sampling and testing, the City of Vaughan continues to prioritize the safety and reliability of its drinking water.
