August 19 National Flight of the Monarch Day is a nationwide event that celebrates and educates the public on the Monarch butterfly. September 20 World Cleanup Day raises awareness of the importance of clean-up efforts in promoting sustainable development. September 21 - 27 National Forest Week and National Tree Day encourage learning about Canada’s forest heritage and raise awareness of this valuable renewable resource. September 24 October 21 - 26 Waste Reduction Week is a great time to encourage residents to adopt waste-less habits and learn about our collective responsibility to the planet to cut down on what’s sent to landfills.
