DAY 3 Glacier Bay National Park Hot coffee and pastries welcome you to this 3.3-million-acre UNESCO World Heritage site as you marvel at Margerie Glacier or Johns Hopkins Glacier directly off the bow. Take the rare opportunity to get on land and hike the ridge of a glacier or kayak near the deep-blue ice. DAY 4 Icy Strait Where the Pacific meets northern Southeast Alaska. Spouts and tail slaps are common
as whales patrol these waters. Sea lions surf the swell. Explore by kayak, skiff, or on foot, always searching for wildlife. DAY 5 Chichagof Island Deep in nutrient-rich waters, Chichagof is home to brown bears, lush meadows, and prolific salmon runs. Spring means wildflowers; summer means salmon; fall might bring Northern Lights. Explore coves or bushwhack. DAY 6 Baranof Island/Peril Strait Navigate a dramatic coastline of glacial fjords and watch for whales. In Peril Strait, swirling eddies bring marine mammals chasing salmon.
