DAY 1 Included Hotel Night Arrive in Ecuador and stay at the Wyndham Guayaquil. Explore the Malecón 2000 boardwalk or historic Santa Ana Hill. Rest for an early flight to the Galápagos. DAY 2 Isla Baltra Embarkation Fly from Guayaquil to Isla Baltra. Board La Pinta . First stop is Isla Seymour Norte to see blue-footed boobies and magnificent frigatebirds. Hike and panga ride reveal geological formations. DAY 3 Isla Isabela/Isla Fernandina By panga, explore Punta Vicente Roca’s dramatic geology. Spot flightless cormorants and blue-footed boobies. Snorkel among fish and green sea turtles. Later, hike on pristine Isla Fernandina to observe marine iguanas and Galápagos penguins. DAY 4 Isla Isabela Stroll Urbina Bay for large, colorful land iguanas and maybe giant tortoises. Cross Bolívar Channel scanning for whales and dolphins. At Tagus Cove, snorkel, kayak, or panga ride, then hike overlooking Darwin Crater.
DAY 5 Isla Rábida/Isla Santa Cruz Rábida’s red beach draws sea lions, marine iguanas, and pelicans. Snorkel off the beach or see marine life from a glass- bottom boat. Hike Cerro Dragón (Dragon Hill) on Santa Cruz for possible flamingos and lounging land iguanas. DAY 6 Isla Santa Cruz Tour the Charles Darwin Research Station and learn about giant tortoise conservation. See baby tortoises raised for repatriation. After lunch at Finch Bay Eco Hotel, explore Santa Cruz highlands for wild tortoises. DAY 7 Isla Floreana Snorkel, hike, kayak, or glass-bottom boat around Isla Floreana. Drop a note at Post Office Bay’s historic barrel. A short hike to Baroness Viewpoint offers a photo op and the possibility to spot flamingos or green sea turtles. DAY 8 Departure Return to Isla Baltra. Fly to Guayaquil for connecting flights home or opt for a Machu Picchu extension.
