Candelario had a lot of acclaim early in his career after being signed in 2018 as a

16-year-old, Baseball America called him that International Signing Class’s top shortstop prospect. It didn’t stop there. Following the 2019 season, FanGraphs hailed Candelario as the 18th- best Royals’ prospect. In that season, he crushed the ball with runners in scoring position, slashing .321/.412/.518 and hit .340 from the left side of the plate.

Francis Grullon #4

While Grullon is listed as a shortstop, he has played more games on the other side of the pillow at second. He hits left-handed pitching well, hitting .350 in his career against southpaws, which will certainly play a role for a lefty-loaded Fireflies lineup this season.

Edgar Martinez #0

Martinez knows how to make a great first impression. He was named a Dominican Summer League All-Star in 2019 after hitting .333 in 36 games in the first-half of the campaign. He found his way on-base .37% of the time in July 2019, drawing seven walks in the month while hitting .256.
