O nce again, racegoers at The Showcase meeting will not only be able to enjoy all the action on the track but off-course too, as The Centaur plays host to the popular SoGlos Showcase Zone, which this year is supported by SoGlos , the leading lifestyle magazine in Gloucestershire. The SoGlos Showcase Zone celebrates the best of Gloucestershire and the South West, with some of the region’s most well-respected food, drink and craft producers. It offers the chance to sample local food and drink, indulge in the shops and explore other demonstrations. Pyromaniac chef Kathryn Minchew will be showcasing locally sourced ingredients and dishes from her hidden restaurant, Gloucester Studio, based in Gloucester. There, diners are treated to a delicious dinner cooked over flames served in a Kota hut. Each service has a different menu, tailored to guests’ preferences. Recently, Michel Roux Jr. visited the restaurant. “It’s extraordinary to see this in a shed in a suburban back garden,” Michel told the Daily Mail. “Kathryn cooks meat in front of you on a firepit. It’s bonkers but it works. I really enjoy watching amazing food being created in the face of unbelievable challenges.” The Pork Peddler, a food outlet from Malvern in Worcestershire, will also be in attendance, specialising in slow-cooked meat with a delicious barbeque flavour. It will be serving favourites such as pulled lamb covered in its famous Peddler lamb rub, slow-cooked and smoked over a bed of cherries, and served in a brioche bun with delicious homemade
