cheltenham | annual membership

MEET AMEMBER Christine Gamble and her husband Julian were long-standing visitors to Cheltenham when Head of Sales Lee Moulson gave them a walk- through of the newly built Cheltenham Club. They’ve been members ever since. “It’s the most amazing restaurant,” said Christine. “You’ve got a balcony that goes all the way round the outside, so you get to see everything. The facilities and whole ambience are brilliant. I wouldn’t go anywhere else now. You’re totally spoilt in there.” The Gambles have a membership for four, and often entertain their clients at the club. “You take people to wow them, and it doesn’t fail. Every time we’ve taken somebody, they are all enamoured with the restaurant, so it really helps us out workwise.” The racing-obsessed couple and their six children – who all have racecourses as middle names – say there’s something special about Cheltenham, and the club in particular, that keeps them coming back. “Everything is so laid on, so you don’t want for anything. You’ve got top-class service and a really relaxing, enjoyable day at the races. They seem to have got it spot on.” TVs to keep an eye on the action. And for those days in the heart of Jump season when the great British weather is being unkind, there’s a cosy fireplace for members to enjoy. Opportunities for private dining at Cheltenham are rare, and the fantastic food is one of the main reasons people become members. Each time you attend enjoy a delicious four-course à la carte meal, which always ends with the famous Cheltenham Club cheese trolley. Wine connoisseurs won’t be disappointed either. The impressive list is hand-selected by Regional Director Ian Renton. Tables are available for two, four, six, eight or 10 guests, so you can entertain your most important clients or bring along your nearest and dearest for a fantastic family day out at the races. There are also exclusive events organised just for members. Last year members enjoyed a private marquee at one of Newmarket’s music nights. And there’s lots more in the pipeline, said Moulson: “There are exciting plans for members for the season ahead.” The Cheltenham Club is a warm and welcoming group of racing enthusiasts, with members bonding over their love of the sport. “We have a number of owners who belong to the Cheltenham Club,” Moulson explained. “People have made friends for life, they’ve bought horses together and they meet up each year and forge lifelong friendships.”
