Get set for the season ahead at Somerset’s Wincanton Racecourse
CELEBRATE THE RETURN of racing to Wincanton Racecourse on Friday October 19 with a competitive six race card which is sure to feature several well known faces from the sport of kings. As the new season gathers pace, it’s a meeting not to be missed as jump racing once more takes centre stage. BetBright Countryside Day on Sunday October 28 coincides with the last day of the school half term holidays, and with free entry to everyone aged under 18, this makes it perfect for a family outing. The card features the Desert Orchid Silver Cup, named after the flamboyant grey who won the hearts of a nation with his bold, front running style. A highpoint in Somerset’s social calendar is our flagship raceday, Badger Chase Day on Saturday November 10. with the vibrant social side of the sport. It’s the place to be seen this autumn as great horses, top jockeys and brilliant trainers come together to provide a racing spectacle for all to enjoy. The feature race of the day, the Badger Ales Chase, attracts some real racing favourites including last year’s winner Bryony Frost on Present Man, setting up a fantastic season following in her fathers footsteps. The Grade 2 Elite Hurdle, run over two miles, is a thrilling contest that has been staged since 1994, and horses that win are the fastest in the business! This year we’re excited to reveal our new restaurant Chasers, where race goers can enjoy the finest views on the racecourse along with a delicious fine dining experience. Shared with friends, colleagues or family, this is surely one of the best ways to experience a day at the races. It’s never too early to begin the
