The Qatar Airways May Racing Carnival is fast becoming a highlight in the racing calendar, with prize money eclipsing £250,000 and 14,000 racegoers in attendance this year. Andre added: “We have some exciting additions for this season, including a Christmas lunch with jockey and racecourse hospitality host David Crosse. Not forgetting the Sporting Icon Brunch, where you will be able to enjoy a bite to eat and rub shoulders with a sporting legend. “The Classic Lunch on Classic Chase Day will give you the chance to be in the company of jockeys and trainers who have left their mark on Warwick’s most celebrated race, and all of Warwick’s winning owners are being invited to a Director’s Charity Luncheon as a thank you for running their horses here. “Keeping things interesting for racegoers is essential – and there is always something new for those who pass through our turnstiles.”

WARWICK RACECOURSE HAS enjoyed a whirlwind few years since Andre Klein joined as General Manager. Andre has stamped his unique style on the racecourse, and racegoers have been pouring through the gates in heady numbers. Known to be a place full of charm and fun, the course’s behind the scenes team deliver an eclectic mix of entertaining ideas to complement a day’s racing, from add on offers to moments of unexpected magic. It’s one of the leading courses in the country, a fact backed up by its high Visit England scores, countless awards and customer satisfaction ratings. More than 40,000 racegoers were welcomed to Warwick in the 2017/18 season, which attracted its largest raceday attendance in the last 20 years on Kids Carnival Day, part of the showpiece four-fixture Qatar Airways May Racing Carnival. Andre believes this is down to the racecourse team’s commitment. “Essentially we are all horse racing fanatics

and we try to deliver the kind of experience we would appreciate as racegoers. It has to be good value for money, friendly and fun,” he said. “It’s been a vintage season with Warwick and we have made further improvements to the course itself to overhaul the drainage on the back straight.” This past season has seen the opening of a new entrance and unveiling of The Coronation Club – and more improvements are on the way for the 2018/19 season which opens on September 25. “The new entrance was a massive priority for us and it changes the face of the racecourse significantly. There is a real sense of arrival at the racecourse now,” said Andre.“We have also made use of previously underused spaces, especially with the transformation of the old Tote betting building into The Coronation Club. “We’re improving the appearance of the 1707 Restaurant which is a hugely
