Some Alaska communities are facing pending shortages of natural gas used for heating and power generation.

AGDC: Framework in place for LNG project

“Glenfarne confirms it has en- tered into an exclusive agreement with the Alaska Gasline Develop- ment Corporation for the devel- opment of the Alaska LNG project, including the Alaska Export Facil- ity, Pipeline, and a Carbon Capture facility,” Glenfarne said in a state- ment. The company said it also will work with Alaska utilities to import

project to private ownership. The company involved is New York-based Glenfarne Group, an industry infrastructure develop- er now engaged in bringing Gulf of Mexico liquefied natural gas, or LNG, projects into production. AGDC said the deal with Glen- farne is preliminary and details are still held private under confidenti- ality agreements.
