Skaters are introduced to more complex skating skills including methods of turning such as three-turns and mohawks. Skaters should be able to skate backward smoothly and fluently (including while doing crossovers). Forward and backward edges, advanced turns, and basic freestyle moves are introduced. Skaters should be able to skate confidently, fluently, and smoothly while turning easily from forward to backward. Skaters will work on turns and edges at a more advanced level and will incorporate those into the patterns used for advanced footwork sequences and connecting moves.
