BikeWalk KC We will travel to troop meetings. Our service area is 20 miles from our Midtown KCMO office (1106 E 30th St Ste G, Kansas City, MO 64109). Additional mileage fees may be incurred if troops are outside this service area. Learn about BikeWalk KC's mission to promote active living and make KC safer and more accessible at bikewalkkc.org. To register, complete BikeWalkKC’s Request a Class form. Mileage fees may apply due to troop location. Weekdays and afternoons/evenings are preferred. (we can accommodate weekends if needed).

Girls will learn how to conduct a walkability study and explore the impact the environment has on biking and walking safety. Girls will learn how they can present their findings to advocate for a safer community. This class includes an outdoor component and will require rescheduling in the event of inclement weather. Length: 1 - 1 ½ Hours. Troop leaders and parents present will need to help support our instructors to make sure scouts are exhibiting safe behaviors while walking. Cost: Flat $150 fee which includes instructors, materials, and any giveaway items. Girls will learn how to be a safe pedestrian. Girls will go on a guided walk to practice safe walking behaviors and will cross streets, intersections, driveways, and will learn how to walk in parking lots. Girls will enjoy a guided bike tour focusing on safety and physical activity. BikeWalk KC provides bikes, helmets, and instructors. Parents/troop leaders can join but should bring their own equipment (our bikes suit younger riders). At least one adult must accompany the group. Duration: 1.5-2 hours. Cost: $200 flat fee includes all equipment and materials.
