Urban Hikes KC provides guided urban hikes in Downtown KCK, KCMO, Plaza, Shawnee & Merriam. While exploring the city, we see vibrant murals, interesting buildings, learn KC history and ride the Streetcar. Learn more at http://urbanhikeskc.com/. In this 2-3 mile urban hike, explore vibrant murals, ride the KC Streetcar, interact with sculptures, explore Kansas City and end with ice cream or pizza. Cost: $18 a girl, adult and sibling Minimum $300 on a weekday and $350 weekend. Length: 2-3 miles over 2-3. Starting at Union Station, we’ll see the model train exhibit, then walk through the Crossroads to view 25+ colorful murals from the Spray See Mo Festival, plus a sound sculpture and Art Alley. Plenty of photo ops in the Arts District! We’ll end with ice cream, Dole Whip, or pizza. Cost: $18 per person, $300 minimum weekday/$350 weekend Length: 3 miles, 3 hours (2 hours walking/ exploring, 1 hour streetcar & treats) From Downtown Shawnee, we’ll walk east to discover 150-year- old buildings, old trails, and burial grounds. At West Flanders Park, learn about the Old Military Road’s impact. We’ll explore native plants and see how this indigenous camping ground became suburban neighborhoods. End downtown with historical buildings and stories from Bleeding Kansas to the county’s first library. Finish with gelato or tacos.
