Key Responsibilities The post is a mission critical leadership position that requires strong construction management expertise. Excellent project, people and financial management are essential to ensure that that the project teams are providing a professional project delivery service for the benefit of the College community. With a focus on major and minor projects, the role holder must ensure he or she has an overview across all project areas to ensure reliable delivery of projects that are fit for purpose, to the agreed quality standard, provide clear value for money, and remain controlled within authorised capital expenditure and project forecasts. This post will report directly to Director of Estates Operations for project activity under his respon- sibility and for the purposes of PDRP, development and training etc. Where the post holder or his team undertakes works directly for the Director of Estates Development they will report directly to him for project activity work only. The main duties of the post will include: Planning and delivery of the estates projects portfolio • To ensure all estates projects are planned and delivered, working closely with Faculty’s, Departments, and Estates Operations functions. • To provide regular progress and financial reports so that effective controls are in place and so enable well informed planning and decision making. • To contribute to the overall development of the College estate and represent the Estates Operations at internal committees and meetings. Leadership and management • To lead the Estates Projects Delivery team, ensuring that it provides high-quality design and specification, value for money and a responsive service, within agreed programmes and budgets and using effective and efficient project management processes. • As a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) contribute to the overall development of the Estates Operations division. • To ensure the College meets its Health and Safety obligations in all projects; to provide reports and seek remedies as appropriate where any deficiencies are identified.
