STEADY AT THE HELM
UWC THAILAND
One very significant session, and proof of Khun Klaus' commitment to a 'Balanced Mind' is the three-day retreat I went on with 9 other students at his Thanyamundra Organic Farm. During this retreat, we had the most delectable organic food, and did different types of yoga meditations, all while remaining completely silent and device-free. It was transformational. I truly believe that mindfulness is what has given me the mental strength and stamina to make the most of UWC Thailand. As these experiences have shaped me into who I am today, I am humbled to share that I have been accepted early to Brown University. But this isn't just my achievement; it's a testament to every person who held my hand as I ran this marathon. To everyone who provided support in any form. To Khun Klaus Hebben. The founding principles of UWC Thailand - good heart, balanced mind, and healthy body - have manifested in countless ways throughout my journey. From mastering bicycle riding to practising mindful eating with friends during tough times, and from organising donations for the Moken children in All for Village Koh Payam to challenging my own limits, each experience has taught me to be bold. To transcend the confines of what I thought I knew and relentlessly yearn for more, all while having an impact on people and the environment. I am excited to carry this forward in my future endeavours. Perhaps the most beautiful aspect of being a Klaus Hebben recipient is that it does not end here. At the risk of sounding cliche, the life experiences and relationships I've gained at UWC Thailand I will carry with me for eternity. I will forever be grateful to Khun Klaus Hebben for giving me the experience of a lifetime.
