Hike for Your Heart Challenge February is American Heart Health month and to celebrate, we challenge you to take a heart-healthy hike through your Dublin parks. Focus on yourself and the health benefits that come from outdoor recreation, which may include lower blood pressure, improved fitness, elevated mood, and reduced stress. Those who register receive a list of parks and trail hikes to complete. At the end of the month, submit your challenge log for a shot at a great heart-healthy prize.

Hike for Hope: MLK Day On January 17, 2022 we remember and celebrate Martin
Luther King Jr. and his idea that this nation can be better if we all come together and work towards making it a better place. His “I Have a Dream” speech continues to serve as a call for equality and freedom, first spoken in 1963 and still relevant today. To honor MLK Jr., Dublin Recreation Services is offering a Hike for Hope. Twenty signs of Martin Luther King Jr.’s
speech align the walking path in Thaddeus Kosciuszko Park. Free to participate (w/ advanced registration), visit the park anytime January 10–28 to complete your hike, enjoy the beauty of the park while learning and reflecting on his speech in its entirety. Leapin’ Leprechaun Park Hunt The search is on to find the Leprechaun that has escaped in our Dublin parks! Families participate together in a nature park hunt to find the leprechaun and his pot of gold before the St. Patrick’s Day Parade! Registration fee is $5.00 per family - please only register one member of your household. Do you have the luck of the Irish on your side to catch Dublin’s mischievous leprechaun? If you are up for the challenge, here is what you need to do: 1. Register for the Leapin’ Leprechauns Park Hunt 2. From Feb. 21 – Mar. 12, visit the park anytime during operating hours and find the St. Patrick’s Day signage 3. Log on to the City’s designated webpage and give your best guess on how many signs our mischievous leprechaun left behind. All information provided is optional and will enter you for a chance to win an amazing St. Patrick’s Day prize! Winner notified by Mar. 14.
