Charity Transparency Award 2023 Lions Home was once again been recognised with the Charity Transparency Award for our exemplary disclosure and transparency practices. Chairman, Past District Governor Steven Seah (BBM), received the award on behalf of the Home at the awards ceremony on 21 November 2023. Organised by the Charity Council, the Charity Transparency and Governance Awards recognises charities for their efforts in upholding governance and building public trust in the sector.
Recognition Night 2023
On 1 and 3 November 2023, Lions Home For The Elders celebrated Community Care Day at Lions Home Bishan and Lions Home Bedok respectively. During the celebrations, staff from various quality improvement committees were recognised for their efforts and contributions to service and quality excellence. We also held karaoke sessions at both Homes where staff had a fun-filled afternoon singing their hearts out.
We were privileged to have our Guest of Honour, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Mr Heng Swee Keat, grace the occasion, as well as present the H K Lau awards, at the Lions Home Recognition Night 2023 on 8 December at the Singapore Island Country Club. A total of 73 Excellence, Merit, Friends of Lions Home awards were presented to Lions Clubs of Singapore, individuals and organisations for their equally invaluable contributions.
COVID-19 Resilience Medal Appreciation Event Nine staff were awarded the prestigious COVID-19 Resilience Medal (CRM) at the CRM Appreciation Event on 10 December 2023. The CRM is a national award awarded to those who participated directly in the national fight against COVID-19, and also serves to recognise and pay tribute to the many thousands whose contributions and sacrifices saw us through the pandemic.
COJTC Champion Lions Home is honoured to have been awarded the status of Certified OJT Centre (COJTC) Champion by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in December 2023. Lions Home was one of the first few nursing homes to have obtained the COJTC status in 1998. In 2019, we received the Distinguished Partner Award from the ITE in recognition of our dedication and commitment towards the training and development of our employees.
Family Day 2024
Lions Home held our inaugural Family Day at Lions Home Bishan and Lions Home Bedok on 2 and 9 March 2024 respectively. The event aimed to gather our residents to bond and spend quality time with their families, as well as for Lions Home to strengthen connections with the next-of-kin. The highlights of the day included fun activities, games booths, photo booths, a showcase of our services and technologies, concluding with a high tea buffet.
