Mid-Autumn Fundraising 23 September 2023 In the spirit of Mid-Autumn Festival, Lion Lena Chua from LCS Ladyhill organised a mooncake and achar sale at the Lions Home Annual General Meeting. As the Co-organising Chairperson of the Lions Home Flag Day 2023, the sale proceeds of $424 went towards the Flag Day campaign.
River Hongbao 2024 8 - 17 February 2024 River Hongbao at Gardens By The Bay is one of the most highly anticipated Chinese New Year events in Singapore for locals and tourists to soak in the festive vibes. Participants were able to make a wish by tossing their coins at the Wishing Heart (感恩的心) lantern set. The 10-day event raised $8,606 for Lions Home.
For Temasek Junior College’s annual Go Green Day, their students collected clothing and newspapers from residents in the Tampines and Bedok neighbourhood. Apart from saving the environment through this recycling project, Lions Home received $2,150 from the proceeds. The funds raised went towards the Home’s Light Up A Smile fundraising campaign.
Project Braveheart VIA: Pushcart 2023 16 October - 15 November 2023 Project Braveheart was organised by Pathlight School for their Primary 6 students as part of the Values in Action (VIA) programme to inculcate students the value of giving back to society. The closed-door event raised funds through the sale of stationery, food and toys to their classmates. The event raised a total of $2,093 for Lions Home.
LCS Orchard: Bottles for a Cause 29 February 2024
MND Charity Bazaar 2024 29 January 2024 As part of their efforts to give back to the community, the Ministry of National Development (MND) team organised their annual charity bazaar to raise funds for Lions Home. Stalls were set up by various MND divisions and statutory boards, and two residents from Lions Home were also invited to the bazaar for a tour and lunch. The event targeted to raise $15,000 but exceeded the target to raise $22,000.
For the second year running, LCS Orchard adopted Lions Home as the sole beneficiary for their charity wine auction. Wines and spirits, generously donated by individuals, corporate companies and Lions Club members were auctioned off at the dinner event held at the Empress Restaurant (Asian Civilisation Museum). The proceeds of $22,000 was donated to Lions Home.
LCS Fort Canning: Lions Art Fest 2024 16 - 19 March 2024
P6 Gratitude-In-Action Fair 7 - 8 November 2023 Ai Tong School organised a Gratitude-In-Action fair where they raised $5,492 for Lions Home. This was part of the school’s annual initiative for their Primary 6 students to raise funds for charities.
Organised by LCS Fort Canning, the Lions Art Fest 2024, held at Asian Civilisation Museum, saw the sale of paintings by disabled artists and lion figurines that were hand painted by seniors from Metta Welfare Association, Lion Befrienders’ Active Ageing Centres, AWWA and special needs students from Saint Clare School. This engagement raised $15,000 for Lions Home, and also provided the community with an avenue to showcase their artistic talents.
