Q . Phoenix, Arizona — “Does Mark 13:26 refer to the rapture? Can this be tied in with I Thessalonians 4:15 and 16?” A. The latter reference is one of the primary passages concerning the rap ture. Mark 13:26 reads, “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” This portion is a parallel pas sage to the Olivet discourse in Mat thew 24 and 25 and Luke 21. We can not interpret this, however, as the rapture. The Lord Jesus Christ is speaking to his disciples as repre sentatives of a coming ■generation. The whole church age is bridged for the moment. This is rather Daniel’s 70th week. The entire world will see our Lord Jesus when He comes visibly. Revelation 1:7 tells iis that “every eye shall see him.” These Scriptures refer to two different events. Q . Riverside, California — “I ’m a young Christian and as yet my husband is unsaved. This is a very delicate situation. When we do not know all the condi tions, situations and backgrounds, it
is difficult to render appropriate coun sel. The Lord alone can give wisdom and direction to prevent the wrecking of a home. One’s faith is the most im portant thing in all the world. But where issues are not as pronounced, utmost care must be exercised. Do GROWING "Daddy, do you still grow?" I let the measuring rod slip closer to my dear child's head. Do I still grow? Do I still grow? This afternoon I suffered from unkind words, but I smiled. Last year I would have been proud of making sharp retort. Last week I set aside my own desires for others. Last year, I would have cried, "I'll have my way, let others yield to me." Last month, I found some beauty in a soul once scorned, And told it to another. Do I still grow? Yes Child, but oh, so slowly! nothing behind your husband’s back. Pray that the Lord will touch this man’s heart and others like him, for there are so many. Your first respon sibility is to be a witness in the home; to be gracious and long suffering. Be just as gracious as possible in order 26
