spirit. The soul is the fleshly nature of the individual. It is his emotions. The spirit, however, is that which was made to be in fellowship with God Himself. There is a definite relation ship in these phrases. Q , Albuquerque, New Mexico — “How can a person resist the devil and cause him to flee?” A. In James 4:7 we read, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Let us take the Lord Jesus Christ as our wonderful example in this par ticular regard. It is not a sin to be tempted, but it is a sin to yield to temptation. Our Saviour was tempted in all points like as we are yet He was without sin. The Lord turned away Satan by using Scripture. If we are going to avoid tempta*' ’on, we need to store up in our mind» •..•'d hearts the Word of God. We need to be clothed in the armor provided thereby (Ephe sians 6:10-18). The best fortifica tion for the Christian against tempta tion is to keep his mind fixed upon the Lord Jesus Christ and his heart filled with the Word of God. A little girl explained how she did it: “I just say, ‘Get thee behind me Satan, and don’t you push!” ’ Q . Some peo ple worship in a converted store building and find wonderful blessings there. There are no restrictions in the Word of God, except that the Lord Jesus Christ is to be the corner stone. Q . Los Angeles, California — “When Jesus restated the commandment based on Deuteronomy 6:U and 5, He included the word ‘mind.’ What did He mean by this?” A. The portion reads, “Hear, O Is rael: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” The use of the word ‘mind’ was not a con tradiction but rather an expansion of the truth. When we speak of the heart, we are not talking about the body’s organ that pumps blood through our system, but of the thought-center of our lives. Q . San Diego, California— “Is there any relationship between spirit, soul and body, and heart, sold and mind?” A.
