INDUSTRY PLACEMENTS

Preston College has industry placement and work experience opportunities on the majority of our courses which provides valuable experience in the workplace. Learners have the chance to work with employers, developing skills through projects, guest lecturers and workshops, helping them to understand how the skills they have gained at college can be transferred into the workplace. Industry placements and work experience hours are not just about testing your skills in a work environment, it can open doors to employment opportunities – just like it has for Jack and Julia!

The Industry Placement Team and your tutors will support you in securing a suitable placement.

JULIA Travel, Tourism and Event Management

"When I started my course, I wanted to work as cabin crew but through running events at the College, I decided to change my career goal to working in event management. I managed to get work experience with Piper Music, it was great work experience and I loved it! Now I have a job in events management with Piper Music."

"My course includes 315 hours of work experience. I completed mine at an MOT bay which helped me decide that I want a career in the automotive industry. I am progressing to an apprenticeship with Leyland Trucks as an Automotive Engineer."
