ASTHMA

Yes, Ezekiel was a faithful watch* man, and parents and pastors and teachers whom we know are watch men, too. But the Lord needs boys and girls also who will be fearless in re minding the people of what the Word of God says, and of how much the Lord loves them. Are we true watch men for Him? Object Lesson R eading B etween the L ines OBJECTS: A picture of a' ship, a white life line, a life-saver on which is printed, “Jesus Saves,” a miniature gallows with a black noose attached, and five placards on which Bible verses are printed. LESSON: Do you know what the ex pression, “reading between the lines,” means ? “It means to guess at something the person means, even though he doesn’t write it in words.” Yes, that is correct. I have two lines with me this morning, and I want you to read between them. Here is a ship with a life line. [Place it on one end of the table.] We will call this the “life line.” On the other end of the table I will put the "death line.” Now we shall read between the lines. Jeremiah said, "Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death” (Jer. 21:8). [Place placards in view when verses are given.] Elijah said, “How long halt ye be tween two opinions?” (1 Ki. 18:21). hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the Lord’s house should be built. 3 Then came the w ord of the Lord by H aggai the prophet, saying, 4 Is It tim e for you, O ye, to dw ell In your ceiled houses, and this house lie w aste? 5 N ow therefore thus saith the Lord o f hosts; Consider your ways, 6 Ye have sown much, and brin g In little: y e eat, but ye .have not enou gh; ye drink, but ye are not filled w ith drink; ye clothe you, but there is none w arm ; and he that earneth wages, earneth w ages to put It Into a bag w ith holes. 7 Thus saith the L ord o f hostel; Con sider your ways. 8 Go up to the mountain, and ''bring w ood, and build the house: and I w ill take pleasure in it, and I w ill be glorified, saitli the X ord . 9 Ye looked fo r much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. W h y? saith the Lord o f hosts. Joshua said, "Choose you this day whom ye will serve” (Josh. 24:15). People are constantly being con fronted with the necessity of choosing between the way of life and the way of death. In the days of Ezekiel, we read that the prophet said, “As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die?” (Ezek. 33:11). I wish each one of us might “read between the lines” today and, hearing God’s message, would turn to the way of life. Joshua once said, “As for me ahd my house, we will serve the Lord” (Josh. 24:15). As we look at the life line, we notice these words, “Jesus Saves.” If we are to escape eternal death and enter Into eternal life, we must receive Christ as a personal Saviour, our very own Saviour. Read between the lines, receive Christ as your Saviour, and rest in His re demption. high priest, w ith all the remnant o f the people, obeyed the voice o f the L ord their God, and the w ords o f H aggai the prophet as the Lord their God had sent him, and the, people did fea r before the Lord.
