for the weekend, but Mikyle approached his ambitions in a much more innovative way: He decided to build his own business completely from scratch. Malcolm founded the company, Classic British Spares, in the early 1990s in order to find and sell vintage Triumph, BSA, and Norton Commando motorcycle parts. Mikyle joined him as a co-owner in 2014 and firmly believes that any person who wants to own a vintage British motorcycle should be able to do so. Fast forward four years later, and what started out as a small startup in a garage has now grown into a half-million-dollar business. What’s more is that Mikyle handles just about everything, including ordering parts, listings, newsletters, blogs, marketing, inventory, and shipping. He even does all the janitorial work! So many students who are fresh out of high school are told that if they want to pursue an entrepreneurial career, they will have to earn their MBA. While I would never discourage students from furthering their education, Mikyle serves as a phenomenal example of someone who knew what he wanted to accomplish and found success through his own unconventional methods. In fact, I like to joke that he earned his “street MBA” instead. Today, Classic British Spares has over 10,000 BSA motorcycle parts, Norton parts, and vintage Triumph parts in stock and ready to ship to motorcycle lovers everywhere.
