I n December 2023, the European Parliament and the Council adopted the EU Pay Transparency Directive (EPTD). It aims to strengthen the principle of equal pay for equal work (or work of equal value) between women and men, by making pay structures more transparent and enforceable. Sweden has made progress, yet the gender pay gap remains around 10%.
