Plant Description:
Plants reach 1.5 feet tall. Plants are mat-like with a silvery color before producing flower stalks. Strong sagebrush odor and bitter to the taste. Leaves are finely divided into 3 or 5 segments up to 1.5 inches long. Flowers are yellow and are borne within long hairy bracts. Fringed sagebrush is an important wildlife feed source but is highly competitive with perennial grasses and tends to increase rapidly with overgrazing.
