War, Music, & Survival:

THE INSPIRING STORY OF JULIEANN WHITE

At 96 years old, Cedarhurst of Breese resident Julieann Holten White’s life is a remarkable tapestry woven with the threads of war, music, love, and survival.

Born in 1928 and growing up during the Great Depression, Julieann’s early years were shaped by hardships and the determination of a close-knit family that found solace in music and the arts. But it was the onset of World War II that would catapult her into a life of extraordinary courage, as she performed with the USO, entertained soldiers on the front lines, and faced unimaginable challenges that would define her legacy.

Her story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, a tale of a young girl who defied the odds, survived multiple plane crashes, and lived to share the lessons learned along the way. From her days as a USO entertainer to the heart- wrenching moments of surviving two crashes and later reconnecting with those who helped her survive, Julieann’s journey is nothing short of legendary.
