giving the best that we have to the One whom we love the most. Once we have dedicated our lives to the Lord, God accepts this and then He consecrates us to His service. A certain convert was tes tifying as to the way in which the Lord had helped him in spiritual growth. He got his words a little mixed up as he declared, "I am so glad that God helped me to be wholly 'concentrated' unto Him." In a very real sense, although he may not have known it, he was expressing the right idea. Conse cration will always issue concen tration on God and His service. We must realize that as believ ers we are the chosen means of conveying the words of eternal life to a lost world, astray from God. Dr. Donald Barnhouse illustrates this in one of his books. King George VI, the late monarch of England, was broadcasting to the world from the United States. Someone tripped over the wires in the studio of the CBS network and for a moment the message went off the air. The radio engineer im mediately sprang into action. He literally spliced the broken link with his own body by holding the ends in his hands. Thus he made it possible for the king's message to be heard over the radio. In this manner he literally presented his body as a living sacrifice so that the message could reach out to the world. Should we not similarly dedicate ourselves to the Lord? We have the only truths this world will ever get which can bring them out of darkness into light. To be prepared for Satan's assaults means dependence upon Jesus Christ who dwells within us by His Holy Spirit. In this way we can be "more than Page 48
