WATER POLO TRACEY PALMER
Water Polo has had another great year in the pool. All age groups achieved national semi-finals with further success for the U15s, who won a wonderful bronze medal, and the U13s who finished fourth in the country at national finals. Several boys have had individual national success, with Peter Ash representing Great Britain in the EU Nations competition held in Czechia in April 2022, and Oliver Dittmer, Andreas Kokkini and Zac Shaw all selected to train with National Academy. A further 12 students have been selected to represent the London region across various age groups. This year has also seen the first collaboration with the Year 7 JAGS Water Polo team. Our fabulous junior head coach, Mario de Lera Calero, has been taking a group of Year 7 DC players to join with the girls in an early morning session, offering both sets of pupils an opportunity to share and develop their team skills and compete as they learn the game. This collaboration will finish in a mixed tournament to be held at DC at the end of the year, celebrating the first step in the newly formed aquatic relationship. With nine teams from Year 5 to Year 13, and more players than space in the pool, it is safe to say that Water Polo is flourishing at Dulwich College.
