A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 8
It has been a successful week from all forms this week as we were able to celebrate a range of awards achieved by the students. This week began with our Spring Celebration Awards, it was such a great celebration for all individuals. One of my favourite things to see is the joy others find in congratulating the winners of the awards. I was so impressed to see those powerful examples of kindness that I know will continue throughout the year. There will be more opportunities to win awards as we will have another Celebration Awards at the end of the Summer Term. A big congratulations to the winner of the attendance award, 8PWA. The group should be very proud of their efforts and I know they appreciated being celebrated on Tuesday. I was proud to hear that our Rugby League team last week were able to receive silver medals for their efforts on the 14 March. I heard that every student ‘put their body on the line.’ I was so proud to hear that the students showed great school spirit with their representation of Waldegrave. A special mention to Keira E from 8EFR who received player of the tournament. We also delivered a presentation to students supporting Neurodiversity week. It allowed Year 8 to learn a little about how we all behave and think differently. It was a great topic of conversation and really helped students to understand each other better. Looking forward we do have a non-uniform day on Thursday 28 March. We will be raising money for UNICEF, please donate £2 to partake in this day. With Easter around the corner I would like to wish you all a happy and healthy break. The students in year 8 have worked incredibly hard and they deserve a well-earned break. With the break it is a good time to replenish any stationery or clothing that is required for the final term.
