A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 7

As we reach the end of term, we take time to reflect and celebrate the achievements of Year 7 in our termly celebration assembly. The assembly recognises all those students who have demonstrated the Waldegrave values of ‘Enjoy, Achieve and Empower’ and it is always a pleasant way to bring the term to a close. This week has seen our students showcase some magnificent memory skills in the Pi competition organised by the Maths department. Gabriella H (7PIR) managed to memorise Pi to an amazing 135 digits! 7FFR as a form group could recount it to 483 digits - astounding!!

We have marked Neurodiversity week with a form activity that showcased the many talents of some well known neurodivergent people and increased our understanding and awareness.

Galloping towards the finish line in this week’s house point competition were 7EST, 7PIR and 7FLE. Well done everybody.

A reminder to Year 7 parents/carers to complete the Year 7 school health questionnaire via the new secure, web-based School Screener Parent Portal, please see the letter sent on behalf of the Richmond School Nursing team on Monday this week. Term ends on Thursday 28th March and what better way could there be to usher in the Easter holidays than to hold the Year 7 Easter Bonnet parade. Excitement is mounting as students design their bonnets in readiness for the event. Students can enter as an individual or join up with members of their form group to make a group bonnet! To enter, students just need to let their tutors know. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
