Meurtre de Marielle Portelance : deux suspects arrêtés La Sûreté du Québec (SQ) a procédé à l’arrestation de deux individus dans l’enquête entourant lemeurtre deMarielle Portelance, survenu le 29 juillet dernier à Grenville-sur-la-Rouge.

Marie-Josée Castilloux, 39 ans, et Mario Lalonde, 32 ans, ont comparu le 19 août dernier et feront tous deux face à des accusations de meurtre prémédité, selon les informations recueillies auprès de la SQ. Les deux individus seraient des résidents de la municipalité de Grenville-sur-la-Rouge. Le sergent Marc Tessier de la Sûreté du Québec a expliqué ne pas pouvoir confirmer les rumeurs selon lesquelles le motif du meurtre pourrait être relié à des dettes de drogues, « puisqu’il s’agit d’éléments d’enquête et que le dossier relèvemaintenant du Directeur des poursuites criminelles et pénales (DPCP) ». Rappelons que le corps de Marielle Portelance, 30 ans, avait été découvert par un homme et son fils aux abords du chemin Scotch, près du lac Cook, le vendredi 29 juillet dernier. Le corps de la femme originaire de Hawkesbury, en Ontario, avait été enroulé dans ce qui semblait être un sac ou un tapis.

AndyMapp, 32, of St-Eustache, faces 18 charges under the federal Criminal Code and the Ontario Highway Act following OPP investigation of an attempted theft of a wood-processing machine from a private residence on Concession Road 5 in Alfred-Plantagenet Township. It all began Aug. 10 when police were called after midnight about a theft-in-progress. The caller had surprised the would-be thief in the act of driving off in a pickup truck with aWallensteinmodel wood pro- cessor attached to it. As the suspect fled, the wood processor came unhooked from the pickup and ended up hitting a vehicle belonging to the caller. OPP patrols alerted to the theft reported a 2003 model white Ford pickup truck drive past a red light and stop signs at high speed without either slowing down or stopping. Const. Mapp is now charged under the Crimi- nal Code with trespassing at night, theft of property valued over $5000, driving while disqualified by court order, possession of burglary tools, failure to stop at the scene of an accident, dangerous driving, failure to comply with a legal undertaking, failure to comply with a legal recognizance, and two counts of failure to comply with the conditions of an undertaking given by an officer in charge. He is also charged under the Ontario Highway Act with stunt driving, driving a vehicle with its licence plate improperly displayed, failure to stop at a red light, along with two counts of driving with a suspended licence, and three counts of failure to heed a stop sign. Mapp’s pickup truck was impounded for 45 days and he was kept in custody pending a bail hearing appointment at provincial court in L’Orignal.
