Reflections and Services Offered During the Pandemic
T he Achievement Academy is working steadfast on strategies to aid all brothers with their professional growth and learn- ing. Our 2020 graduates are entering into a career field that is very different from years past. Therefore, all brothers must come together to lend a helping hand to make sure we all can achieve their hopes and dreams. The Achievement Academy is here serving as a guide and networking community for brothers to connect to opportunities within and outside of the fraternal membership. We have several interactive professional cohort groups to assist our members. Our goal is to con- nect brothers to the resources needed to advance their personal and fraternal goals. All members are welcomed to join the Academy. We are asking all Human Resources professionals and entrepreneurs to fol- low the three simple steps to join the New Achievement Academy HR/Entre- preneurs page on the website if you have known career opportunities. Brothers will have an opportunity connect with you via LinkedIn.
I n the off-chance I forgot, COVID-19 has reminded me that as Nupes, we have to be flexible and stay agile. After research, deliberation and teamwork, the largest change in our committee has been having to pivot our Iota Class program to a 100% virtual engagement. Although ‘virtual’ is not ideal, the ULI Leadership team has been working feverishly to ensure we are still delivering world class sessions ULI has been known for over the past 15+ years. With the help of our amazing corporate partners and Kappa experts in the field of education we have put together a program to remember. Aside
from what pandemic is around us. We realize that the brothers deserve the best, regardless of if you recently stepped onto campus or if your student days are done, let this COVID-19 season serve as a reminder that you have to be prepared for the unexpected and when you're hit with reality you need to move swiftly to action. Maybe a career move is on pause and you need to take a detour to your dream job or possibly the hit is financially and you need to delay gratification… regardless of what it is you can overcome! Whatever you have faced has made you better, stronger and wiser! The current you is ‘dealing’ with it, but your future you will appreciate it!
Never waste a crisis, but use it as a catalyst for self-development. Stay encouraged, stay healthy and keep crushing life!

T he Membership Status Review Commission (MSRC) has been hard at work to provide first class service to the brothers. As a Senior Lead Engi- neer for a government contractor and project management professional, it is my inherent nature to look at process improvement, identifying opportu- nities, and enabling automation when possible. It is those tenants that has aided us to continue the work of the MSRC and not allow COVID-19 to slow us down. In collaboration with International Headquarters, we have digitized forms that pre- viously required manual processing. We have documented our processes in order to automate the MSRC from end-to-end. The MSRC will also soon have a presence on the website so members have transparency into how they may connect with the MSRC. Lastly, COVID-19 has allowed us to completely review historical documen- tation to understand what was done previously, why was it done, and whether we should continue a process just because that’s the way it has always been done. COVID-19 is a historic pandemic affecting every aspect of our lives financially, socially, and mentally as we deal with the unknown. We must continue to pray for the less fortunate and each other while also seeking to safely serve our communi- ties. There are brothers who may not feel comfortable sharing that they are hurting or in need so we should use this time to reach out and check on each other. Please continue to take care of your mental and physical health brothers. We will make it through this together. – Phi Nu
