Both humbled and honored, I stand here, but I do so in fear and trembling. I tremble, because I realize that you and I live in one of the most critical hours in the history of our nation and the world; and I fear, for I am not certain that you realize fully that in this generation, yet this very hour and on THIS occasion, that what we do and what we say and how we may feel may mean the difference between the preservation of our society and the total destruction of our civilization, the most advanced ever known to man. In light of the seriousness of the times, our primary concern must be with the question of what we can do to save our generation, preserve western civilization and save our world from total destruction and annihilation.... “
