TIMELINE: A LOOK BACK THROUGH THE KAPPA ALPHA PSI ® JOURNAL
“
Another shortcoming that Kappa Alpha Psi has been able to overcome thus far is the mindset of brothers believing that the quest for achieve- ment ends with their initiation. Everyone wants to be a kappa, but how many brothers truly strive to be a Laurel Wreath Laureate or a Guy L. Grant Wearer? Of course, being initiated into this Bond is a major accomplishment and deserving of praise. However, we have initiated over 100,000 men throughout our history, and hundreds of thousands more have sought membership...What we need more of is LEADERSHIP. Every brother is not expected to be a Grand Polemarch, Province Polemarch or Grand Chapter Board member. However, every brother can do the following: chair a local chapter committee, participate in events hosted by the Fraternity, and remain financial for life.
