ΡΟ ΡΞ Chapter, the Rho Xi of Kappa Alpha Psi is chartered. — The Xavier University Chapter, the Rho Omi- cron of Kappa Alpha Psi is chartered. — In March, Stephon Clark is killed by two police of- ficers while in the back- yard of his grandmother's house with a phone in his hand in Sacramento, CA. — In September, Botham Jean is killed when a police officer enters his apartment and shoots him. The officer alleged she believed it was her apartment and was even- tually sentenced to 10 years.

Inclusive Communities Project, Inc., the U.S. Su- preme Court toughened the standards for claims made under the Fair Housing Act. 2016 The University of New Mexico Chapter, the Rho Kappa of Kappa Alpha Psi is chartered. — The Newman-Fairburn (GA) Alumni Chapter is chartered. — On July 13, Sandra Bland dies in jail after being pulled over for a traffic stop in Texas. — In Texas Dept. of Housing was sentenced to 20 years in 2017. — On April 12, Freddie Gray sustains injuries to his spinal cord while in the custody of the police in Baltimore, lapses into a coma and dies. Protests follow. — On June 17, Nine African Americans are killed in the Charleston Church Shooting at Emanuel Afri- can Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina. On July 5, Alton Sterling was shot by police offic- ers in Baton Rouge, LA, while selling CDs. The
shooting was recorded. Protests ensued. — On July 6, Philando Cas- tille, was killed a by police in Minnesota during a traffic stop. Live stream- ing brought national no- toriety to his death. The officer was acquitted and the city of Saint Anthony paid a multimillion dollar wrongful death settlement. — On September 16, Ter- ence Crutcher, who was unarmed, was killed by a police officer in Tulsa, OK during a traffic stop. Protests follow.
