An Achieving Kappa Excels in a U.S. Presidential Impeachment Trial

The first article is ABUSE OF POWER. It is an impeachable offense for the president to exercise the powers of his public office to obtain an improper personal benefit while ignoring or injuring the national interest. The House impeachment managers said: "That is exactly what President Trump did when he solicited and pressured Ukraine to interfere in 2020 presidential election." The second article is OBSTRUCTION OF CONGRESS. The allegations of obstruction are based on Trump’s lack of cooperation with the House inquiry, including defying subpoenas for documents and testimony.
T he Honorable Hakeem Jef- fries, a member of the U. S. House of Representatives was selected by Speaker Nancy Pelosi for one of the most sought-after jobs on Capitol Hill: impeachment manager. He became one of seven lawmakers tasked with prosecuting the case against President Donald J. Trump in the Senate’s trial, giving him a high-profile role and a chance to demonstrate his prolific political and legal skills before a world- wide public impeachment trial of the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.. The New York Democrat is Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, hav- ing been elected to that position by his colleagues in November 2018. In that capacity, he is the fifth highest-ranking Democrat in the House of Representa- tives. He is also the former Whip of the Congressional Black Caucus and previously co-chaired the Democratic Policy and Communications Commit- tee where he helped develop the For the People agenda. After completing law school, Jeffries clerked for the Honorable Harold Baer Jr. of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. He then practiced law for several years at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Whar- ton & Garrison LLP, an internation- ally renowned law firm and served as counsel in the litigation department of Viacom Inc. and CBS. He also worked as of-counsel at Godosky & Gentile, a well-regarded litigation firm in New York City. Rep. Jeffries was born in Brooklyn Hospital, raised in Crown Heights and is a product of New York City’s public school system. He lives in Prospect Heights with his family. In Congress, Rep. Jeffries has emerged as a tireless advocate for social and economic justice. He has worked hard to help residents impacted by the dev- astation of Superstorm Sandy, reform our criminal justice system, improve the economy for everyday Americans and protect our health care from right- wing attacks.
United States Congress, Rep. Jeffries is a member of the House Judiciary and House Budget Committees. Congressman Jeffries obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science from the State University of New York at Binghamton. While there, in the Spring of 1989, he was initiated into the Mu Kappa Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He graduated with honors for outstand- ing academic achievement.
