Bill Amberg was born into leather. Raised in Northampton – the centre of the British shoemaking industry – he was surrounded by the material throughout his childhood. The Bill Amberg Studio now stands as an industry leader in bespoke leather products, interiors and furniture. Bill’s vision for his collaboration with Savoir was to reawaken the leather bed with two exclusive digitally printed leather designs. The designs, Sky and Ocean, are a celebration of British craft and innovation. The inspiration for Sky was to symbolise the gentle movement from night to day and the shift from sleeping into the waking hours. Ocean plays on the idea of swimming from the depths towards the surface at day break, and the refraction of light through water during these early hours.
