Real Mermaid Performers Your parents may tell you “You can be anything you want to be when you grow up. You can even be a mermaid.” They’re telling the truth! There is actually a job where you can perform as a mermaid (or merman) and be paid for it! The job includes swimming with different fish, dolphins, or even sharks! Mermaid performers are asked to dance or swim with fish for a period of time. (How cool is that!) Though, how wonderful it sounds, there are requirements and downsides to having this job. The job has tough training, if you seem fit enough for this job. The job requires you to be able to swim for a long period of time and carry a roughly 15 pound tail. Even though some of the performers have to deal with this, they still love their job. It’s like living the dream, and you can live it too!

VA-CA-TION ! ! ! A period of suspension of work, study, or other activity, usually used for rest, recreation, or travel; recess or holiday: Schoolchildren are on vacation now. Freedom or release from duty, business, or activity.

Vacations are important because Self Care is important! No matter what walk of life you are from, after months of work and daily stresses, it is important to take a breath and relax in order to rejuvenate. “Clean Out Garbage” from your mind and RELAX! As I am now currently on a much needed vacation, I encourage all of you to take that breath and reflect on what is important to you. Make time to have fun, play, and enjoy your family this summer. I will be back next school year!
