Without Science the world would not come up to this point. Because of science we have Technology, buildings, bridges, structures, and transportation. However, the most important thing that we would not have if science didn’t exist is knowledge! Knowledge is the most important thing in our lives. Without it, we could not do simple things such as washing dishes and turning on a computer. We would not have invented cars, trucks, or other vehicles without science. Due to the contribution of science, human beings nowadays live longer because of new inventions in medicine and treatment. Even doctors can transplant the vital organs such as heart, kidney, eyes etc. due to the invention of science. So, science brought the modern civilization at this stage where we are today. Technology misuses can sometimes be harmful, see page 12 for “What you don’t know about Wi-Fi.” The Popsicle * , Trampolines, and even Earmuffs were all invented by children — We celebrate a few contemporary entrepreneurs who made a fortune before they were adults on page 21. Remember, the simplest things we use everyday had to be discovered or invented at some point by someone, like the paperclip, push pins, rubber bands, and the like. We take for granted these daily useful tools, but who invented these and why? Page 15 presents a wealth of trivia!

What about Luck versus Skill? How important are these to becoming successful? If you’re willing to take risks, maintain a positive outlook, be open minded, ask for help, be brave enough to fail, know when to quit, and demonstrate resilience during challenges and failures, then you are probably part of what makes you lucky! F.Y.I.... Find out how playing cards saved lives on page 16! As you journey through this issue of Let’s Talk Trash News, you will find yourself in the midst of Green! St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th and with it comes the luck of the Irish. From rainbows, leprechauns, and pots of gold, again, are they lucky and why? Ireland is called the Emerald Isle for obvious reasons -- it is green! You will also explore some interesting facts about Ireland’s national bird, sport, and an extraordinary woman in Irish history. * On an interesting note, the word Popsicle was actually coined by a grandson naming his ice creation, “Pop’s-cycle” since he discovered this at his “Pop’s” house. ... AND SO MUCH MORE!
