Our little one just hit the terrific twos! It’s been a blur, but our spirited toddler has reshaped our world in ways we never anticipated. Two years ago, the news of another addition was met with surprise and trepidation. With four older siblings all comfortably in the school-age zone, we thought we had graduated from the diapers and nap-time juggling act. We finally had a predictable schedule and carefree family adventures were back on the agenda. Little did we know that life had another twist in store. Our well-oiled routine was tossed aside, replaced by sleepless nights and the constant buzz of toddler energy. Nap schedules, feeding times, and the ever-present need to be “on” at all hours — it was a mental drain. Work-from-home with a toddler’s demands and constant interruptions became a challenge

many of you experienced firsthand during our phone conversations!

But amidst the chaos, there are unexpected gifts. Her older siblings have grown, learning valuable lessons in responsibility, helpfulness, and the art of putting someone else first. She, in turn, has them wrapped around her tiny fingers, and seems quite comfortable establishing herself as their boss. She has willing snack-fetchers at her beck and call. For Kevin, whose prior job often kept him away from the daily nuances of toddlerhood, the change was profound. He suddenly found himself in the midst of every single baby moment (which led to whole new appreciation of Sierra for doing the lion’s share by herself for so long). Sierra, who previously navigated simultaneous toddlers, now enjoys the additional support from the older kids and the mental sanity of another adult to talk to. She’s an absolute tornado of energy, whose favorite pastime seems to be dashing through the house leaving a trail of destruction in her wake. But she’ll flash us her mischievous, toothy, grin that instantly melts our hearts, leaving us utterly smitten with her once more.

Plus, it doesn’t feel like you’re exercising because the activity is goal-focused. Healthy Eating: Harvesting your own vegetables ensures a supply of fresh, organic produce. This home-grown food is free from harmful pesticides and richer in nutrients, contributing to a healthier diet. • 4 russet potatoes • 1 tbsp olive oil • 1 15-oz can black beans • 1/4 tsp kosher salt • 1 1/2 cups pico de gallo, store-bought • 1 cup corn • 1 cup guacamole, store‑bought • Shredded vegan cheese • Fresh chopped cilantro • Dairy-free sour cream

1. Preheat the oven to 425 F. 2. Wash potatoes and use a fork to pierce them all over. Next, rub olive oil on potatoes and place them directly on the oven rack. Bake for 20 minutes, turn each potato, and bake for another 25 minutes or until tender. 3. Drain and rinse the black beans, then add kosher salt. When the potatoes are done, open the tops with a fork and top with the pico de gallo, seasoned black beans, corn, guacamole, cheddar cheese, cilantro, and sour cream.
